Yalari's 10th Anniversary - 2015

Yalari was established in April 2005 with our first three students enrolling at Toowoomba Grammar School and The Glennie School in 2006.  We would like to acknowledge the finanical support of AVCAL (Australian Venture Capital Association Limited) and DEEWR (Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations) for the initial start-up funding.

We would also like to thank the many individuals, companies, government departments and philanthropic organisations who have supported us over the years in many different ways, especially the ones who took a risk on 'a good idea' in the early years.

Yalari has not altered its focus or goals since it began.  With the support of our donors and sponsors, we offer boarding scholarships for Indigenous children from regional, rural and remote areas to attend some Australia's highest achieving boarding schools for their secondary education.  With over one hundred graduates, we continue to support these young adults in varying ways.

As we reflect on the last ten years, we know our motto is just as relevant today as it ever was. "It takes a whole community to educate a child" - thank you to everyone who has been part of that community - the Yalari Community.
