Indigenous Advancement Strategy and Indigenous Youth Leadership Legacy Program
Yalari receives Commonwealth funding under the Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS), Children and Schooling programme stream and the Indigenous Youth Leadership Legacy Program (IYLLP).
The Children and Schooling Programme outcomes are:
- Getting children into school
- Improving education outcomes including Year 12 attainment
- Improving youth transition to vocational and higher education and work
- Supporting families to give children a good start in life through improved early childhood development, care, education and school readiness

The Objective of the IYLLP is to improve education outcomes for Indigenous youth by supporting Indigenous students to attained Year 12 certificate. The Provider will support scholars to overcome challenges that may prevent them from otherwise completing Year 12 and transitioning into further education, training or employment.
These programmes are managed by the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet with the current funding agreements due to expire in December 2017.
The IAS agreement funds 22 scholarship places and the IYLLP funds 81 places for 2016 and 65 places for 2017.
